Hammer Press was founded in 1929 by Louis L. Hammer. After his death in 1940, ownership and management passed on to his 19 year old son, Joseph, who directed the company for the next 45 years. In 1985, the company passed to the third generation of Hammers who proudly follow in their father's footsteps.

Running the business today as The Hammer Company, a communications company offering a wide-range of image-based tools and services to clients, are Susan Hammer, Chief Executive Officer; Sidney B. Hammer, President; Kenneth J. Hammer, Executive Vice President; William A. Wolchesky, Vice President of Manufacturing; Tom Kline, Vice President of Production and Estimating; and Scott Stigliano, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
